2007 Toyota Tundra Parking Assist Distance Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Parking Assist Distance Sensor on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: The first step for Parking Assist Distance Sensor service begins with disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable after waiting ninety seconds past ignition shutdown for the navigation system to save memory and settings. The service and repair process starts by uninstalling the front fender splash shield sub-assembly LH and RH for Steel Type Bumper then the front end panel LH and RH for both Steel and Resin Type Bumpers and continues with front bumper cover sub-assembly, front bumper bar and front bumper cover for the Resin Type Bumper. Then detach No.1 ultrasonic sensor by depressing the lever which releases one claw until the other claw comes loose for different claw inspections before installation. The two claws need to be detached to eliminate the No.1 ultrasonic sensor retainer from the front bumper. Alignment of keyhole with protrusion enables the No.1 ultrasonic sensor retainer to be securely placed on the bumper without causing damage so the two claws can be used to position the No.1 ultrasonic sensor. The procedure to install the Resin Type Bumper front bumper cover includes front bumper bar then front bumper cover sub-assembly followed by front end panels (Started with both LH and RH for Resin Type Bumper and then LH and RH) along with front fender splash shield sub-assemblies LH and RH for the Steel Type Bumper. Reconnect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery while keeping in mind that system reinitialization might be needed before fog light adjustment.
