2007 Toyota Tundra Cruise Control Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Cruise Control Switch on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: Before servicing or repairing the Cruise Control Main Switch you must disconnect the negative battery terminal cable to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Some systems need an initialization process after reattaching the cable but should still wait at least 90 seconds. The user must let the ignition switch remain in the off position during a 90-second period before removing the cable. The technician needs to eliminate the lower No.2 steering wheel cover before extracting the lower No.3 steering wheel cover. When applicable use the same order to remove the steering pad or the steering pad switch and then disconnect the cruise control main switch by unscrewing the 2 screws while disassembling the switch in the indicated manner. The installation procedure requires you to follow the reverse order of removal steps which include connecting the cruise control main switch and securing it using two screws before returning the connector into place. Installation of the steering pad should be done first followed by reinstallation of lower No.3 and lower No.2 steering wheel covers. Before closing the cable connection to the negative battery terminal users should confirm system initialization requirements since it might be necessary then verify the SRS warning light indicates proper system functionality.
