2007 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install an A/C Condenser in a refrigeration system on 2007 Toyota Tundra?
A: Thirty minutes should pass after cable removal from the negative battery terminal before starting condenser removal as a safety precaution to prevent Air Bag activation. Turn off the ignition switch first then permit navigation memory recording for 90 seconds prior to taking out the battery cable. The condenser removal process requires removal of the front bumper cover and radiator assembly specific to the vehicle engine models (1GR-FE / 2UZ-FE / 3UR-FE). You should remove the bolt and O-ring from the discharge hose before sealing its openings with vinyl tape to stop moisture from entering. Removing the two bolts with the O-ring from the air conditioning tube leads to its disconnection along with the accessory assembly before sealing all the exposed areas with vinyl tape. To commence the cooler condenser assembly removal, start by unscrewing the two bolts and after that unscrew the cooler dryer using a 14 mm socket hexagon wrench before removing the O-ring from the cap. Apply compressor oil (ND-OIL 8 or equivalent) to a new O-ring and cap of the cooler dryer before tightening it to 2.9 N.m (30 kgf.cm, 26 in.lbf). The two cooler condenser assembly bolts need to be tightened to 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf) while installing. Connect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly by adding compressor oil to the new O-ring then tighten it with two bolts at 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) while preventing any tool contact to the pipe. Secure the discharge hose with a bolt after smearing it with compressor oil and achieving the matching torque specifications. You must insert the radiator assembly alongside the front bumper cover depending on engine type. The cable should be connected to the negative battery terminal while recognizing that some systems need initialization procedures. First charge the refrigerant system while warm-up the vehicle engine followed by a leak inspection for refrigerants and a confirmation of SRS operational status.
