2007 Toyota Tacoma Wheel Stud Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the rear Wheel Stud on 2007 Toyota Tacoma?
A: An appropriate procedure to service the rear wheel stud begins with rear wheel and rear brake drum sub-assembly removal and subsequent removal of front and rear brake shoes. You should remove the rear wheel stud by using Special Service Tool: 09650-17011. The procedure for installation requires a new wheel stud to pass through the axle hub followed by the washer plate placement before securing everything with the hub nut. First apply high-temperature grease then install the brake shoes and inspect the drum brake assembly of the rear part of the vehicle. You should put back the rear brake drum sub-assembly followed by drum brake shoe clearance adjustment before reinstalling the rear wheel while maintaining a torque of 113 Nm (1,152 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.). Check and readjust the travel distance of the parking brake pedal as the last step.
