2007 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the front wiper motor on 2007 Toyota Solara?
A: A technician should start front wiper motor service by first unfastening the claw from the windscreen wiper arm cover. Begin by dispersing the windshield wiper arm and blade assembly LH by unwinding its nut then do the same to eliminate the windshield wiper arm and blade assembly RH. The cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly can be removed when all 2 clips have been pulled free and all 12 claws have been disengaged. Disconnect the connector along with the removal of 4 bolts to extract the windshield wiper motor with its link assembly. The windshield wiper motor assembly requires a screwdriver to disconnect the rod from the crank arm pivot point while taping the screwdriver tip to avoid damage and then removal of the 3 bolts. Installation requires installing the windshield wiper motor assembly through its 3 bolts while torquing them to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). Before rod connection apply MP grease at the crank arm pivot. The windshield wiper motor and link assembly receive 4 bolts during installation while torquing them to 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf) before reconnecting the connector. The windshield wiper arm and blade assembly RH should receive manual wiper operation to achieve automatic stop motor position before cleaning both wiper components. Installation requires a nut that needs torqueing at 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) along with manual hinge support throughout assembly. Apply the cleaning process to the wiper arm and pivot serration area twice before installing the windshield wiper arm and blade assembly LH with its nut then apply torque to 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) while gripping the arm hinge.
