2007 Toyota Sienna Oil Cooler Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the oil cooler on 2007 Toyota Sienna?
A: You need to begin servicing the engine oil cooler by removing the No. 1 engine under cover, exhaust pipe assembly followed by engine coolant and oil draining after which the No. 2 manifold stay, No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator and exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH require removal. The engine oil cooler needs removal through disconnection of the bolt and 2 clamps and 4 clips followed by detaching of the 2 water by-pass hoses. Start the service by disassembling the oil cooler union bolt followed by removing the oil cooler assembly together with the O-ring. An inspection of the engine oil cooler should take place to check for any damage or clogging and replacement will be done when necessary. Installation begins by cleaning the oil cooler contact surface followed by O-ring installation and usage of the union bolt tightened to 68 Nm (693 kgf-cm, 50 ft. lbs.). To install the 2 water by-pass hoses use a bolt and 2 clamps as well as 4 clips that need to be torquet to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft. lbs.). Proceed with reinstallation of the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH alongside both the No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator and the No. 2 manifold stay unit before installing the exhaust pipe assembly. The service technician should install fresh engine oil and coolant before conducting inspections for oil leaks and checking the current engine oil level. This process concludes with No. 1 engine under cover reinstallation.
