2007 Toyota Prius Cruise Control Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Cruise Control Switch on 2007 Toyota Prius?
A: The service and repair procedure for the Cruise Control Main Switch begins by disconnecting the negative battery cable and waiting 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The service begins with removing the No. 2 steering wheel cover lower, then the No. 3 steering wheel cover lower before proceeding to the steering pad assembly and finally the steering wheel assembly. Unplug the cruise control main switch by disconnecting its connector as well as unfastening the two screws. First for installation connect the cruise control main switch to its positions with screws and reattach the connector. Reassemble the components by first installing the steering wheel assembly then the steering pad assembly after which put on the No. 2 steering wheel cover lower followed by the No. 3 steering wheel cover lower. The negative battery terminal cable must be reconnected following initialization procedures since some systems need this process when cables are installed and removed. To check SRS warning light functionality you need to inspect it at the end of the process.
