2006 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Cruise Control Switch on 2006 Toyota Prius?
A: Prior to fixing the cruise control main switch users need to disconnect the negative battery cable until it waits for at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bags and seatbelt pretensioners from activating. Service begins by removing the No. 2 and then the No. 3 steering wheel cover lower before proceeding to take away the steering pad assembly and steering wheel assembly. The procedure continues with cruise control main switch removal after disconnecting the connector and unscrewing both 2 screws. The installation process starts by applying 2 screws to the cruise control main switch before connecting the connector that completes the installation. Finally connect the steering wheel assembly to the steering pad assembly and after that install the No. 2 steering wheel cover lower and the No. 3 steering wheel cover lower. The cable must be connected to the negative battery terminal for initialization before performing the initialization sequences of any systems needing this step when reconnecting the cable. Finish the process by inspecting the SRS warning light to verify system function.
