2007 Toyota Matrix Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install the rear side Car Speakers on 2007 Toyota Matrix?
A: The removal of the rear side speaker requires beginning with rear door pull handle removal followed by extracting the rear door window regulator handle assembly (without power window) before separating the rear door trim board subassembly LH. With a drill sized under 4 mm (0.16 in.) in diameter detach the connector from the rear speaker before drilling out the three rivet heads to pull out the rear speaker from the rear door panel. Drill vertically and softly to prevent damaging the holes or breaking the drill while taking care with the hot cut rivet. Employ the vacuum cleaner to extract both drilled rivets and dust after using the drill to push out remaining debris from the rear door panel that became accessible after flange removal. Installation requires an air riveter or hand riveter with which to install 3 new strike rivets that will secure the rear speaker to the rear door panel by following the specified order while also avoiding damage to the riveter when not prizing or tilting it during use. The installation process requires reattachment of the connector and installation of the rear door trim board subassembly LH along with the rear door window regulator handle assembly (without power window) and the rear door pull handle.
