2007 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install Liftgate Lift Support on 2007 Toyota Highlander?
A: The trunk/liftgate shock/support removal procedure begins by maintaining the back door while taking out the back door stay assembly with strict avoidance of extending rod contact and prohibition of lateral pressure on the rod to avoid bending. The process begins with removing the 4 bolts then the back door support. Touching the extendable rod portion along with pushing or pulling from the sides when installing remains prohibited. Use the 4 bolts to install the back door support while torquing them to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf).
