2007 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Cruise Control Switch on 2007 Toyota Highlander?
A: Disconnection of the negative cable and a 90-second wait period becomes necessary before repairing the Cruise Control Main Switch because it helps deactivate Air Bags. Service begins by removing the Steering Wheel No.3 Cover Lower and continues with the Steering Wheel No.2 Cover Lower and finally proceeds to the Horn Button Assembly. The switch requires removal when the installer disconnects its connector and removes its 2 screws before pulling the switch according to the marked arrow direction. Mount the Cruise Control Main Switch to its position through 2 screws tightened at 2.4 N.m (25 kgf.cm, 21 in.lbf) while rejoining the connector. The technical team should replace the Horn Button Assembly followed by the Steering Wheel No.3 Cover Lower along with the Steering Wheel No.2 Cover Lower. The last step involves cable connection to the negative battery terminal while checking both the Horn Button Assembly and the SRS warning light.
