2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: Start the repair process by draining fuel system pressure followed by disconnected negative battery cable service and repair operations on the fuel injector. You should begin by draining the engine coolant and proceed to extract V-bank cover and air cleaner assembly and throttle body bracket through their 2 bolt removal. Unscrew the bolt on the oil baffle plate before taking out both of the No. 1 and No. 2 surge tank stays through their 2 bolt removal. A socket Hexagon Wrench 8 with a 4 bolt gasket extraction will be needed before you remove the two nuts and detach the intake air surge tank by unscrewing three wire harness clamps and the hose clamp simultaneous with disconnecting the 2 water by-pass hoses, fuel vapor feed hose, ventilation hose, 2 VSV connectors and throttle body with motor connector. You should disconnect No. 1 and No. 2 fuel pipe sub-assemblies by unclipping their clamps to extract the fuel pipes from the delivery pipe while monitoring for dirt and connector scratches. You need to separate the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly by removing all six fuel injector connectors then unscrewing six bolts followed by withdrawing the six injectors out of the delivery pipe. To install the O-rings apply spindle oil or gasoline to new rings then insert them into the delivery pipe with connectors directed outward. Place the delivery pipe towards the intake manifold with its injectors in position while installing the 6 bolts provisionally and testing the injector rotation before applying 15 N.m (153 kgf.cm, 11 ft.lbf) torque when finalizing the connection of the 6 fuel injector connectors. Install the tube connectors to the No. 2 and No. 1 fuel pipes until you hear a "click" sound before placing clamps onto them. The intake air surge tank requires a new gasket that should be fastened by 4 bolts reaching 28 N.m of torque (286 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf). Secure the 2 additional nuts also to 28 N.m of torque (286 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf). The repair starts by reconnecting wire harness clamp fasteners before uniting the throttle body to its motor connector together with 2 VSV connectors and ventilation and fuel vapor feed hoses and 2 water by-pass hoses. The installation starts with securing the No. 2 and No. 1 surge tank stays through 2 bolts that receive a torque of 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). The next step is to bolt the oil baffle plate to 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) before finishing with the throttle body bracket installation through 2 bolts to 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). The last steps include connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal with 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) torque and adding engine coolant before checking for leakage. Reinstall the V-bank cover to complete the procedure.
