2007 Toyota 4Runner Fuel Pressure Regulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel pressure regulator on 2007 Toyota 4Runner?
A: The fuel pressure regulator service procedure starts with breaking down all parts into individual components. Start by taking out the vapor sensor pressure through its tube joint clip followed by clip extraction. After disconnecting the fuel sender gage connector you should unlock the fuel sender gage before sliding it out. The fuel pump assembly with filter requires a screwdriver to detach its 4 snap-claws from the claw holes before one can safely extract the sub tank without damaging it. Separate the fuel pump connector and use a small screwdriver to detach the 4 claw attachments from the claw holes until successful removal of the fuel pump assembly with integrated filter occurs. Then remove the fuel pump O-ring followed by the spacer. The fuel pump filter becomes accessible after using a small screwdriver to separate the clip followed by filter removal. To install the fuel pump filter put a new clip into position before you attach the fuel pump spacer onto the fuel pump. Clean the new O-ring by wiping it with gasoline before adding it to the fuel pump and repeating the same procedure before fuel pump placement on the filter. Secure the sub tank onto the fuel filter using a new O-ring that received a light gasoline application on its fuel suction tube assembly. Afterward securely fasten the fuel sender gage and connect its electric plug. Fitting the vapor pressure sensor needs to be done with the tube joint clip in place so its collar meets properly while ensuring all connecting components have no scratches, foreign objects or incomplete insertion of the fuel tube joint connector. A proper connection check should be performed after installation by tugging on the fuel tube joint connector.
