How to service and repair the thermostat on 2006 Toyota Solara?

A proper thermostat service requires drainage of engine coolant followed by fan and generator V belt removal and finally the generator assembly detachment. Unscrew the radiator hose inlet before separating the water inlet from the cylinder block by removing its 2 nuts. Proceed to remove the thermostat. Start the installation by setting a new gasket on the thermostat then place it into position with jiggler valve up while maintaining a 10-degree angle from recommended specifications. Attach the water inlet by using 2 nuts and tighten them to 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.). To finish the repair install the radiator hose inlet followed by the generator assembly then the fan and generator V belt. After installation add engine coolant while checking the system for any leakage evident in the system.
