2006 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install an A/C Condenser in a refrigeration system on 2006 Toyota Solara?
A: The first step for condenser removal requires purging refrigerant from the refrigeration system. The bolt securing hose No.1 should be removed to disconnect the refrigerant while applying vinyl tape across the opening ends to block moisture and foreign particles from intrusion. You should disconnect cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A by taking out the bolt together with O-ring and sealing the openings using vinyl tape. A proper condenser removal begins with removing the air cleaner inlet assembly along with the radiator support upper and the cooler condenser assembly through 2 nut removal. Degrease the nut on cooler condenser bracket No.2 before removing it then proceed with taking off cooler condenser bracket No.1 using the same procedure. To install the system begin with No.2 cooler condenser bracket by fastening its bolt at 4.4 N.m (45 kgf.cm, 39 in.lbf) torque. Attain cooler condenser bracket No.1 in position by applying a bolt with a 4.4 N.m torque. The installation of the cooler condenser assembly requires the application of 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 85 in.lbf) torque to the 2 nuts. You can start by installing the radiator support upper before attaching cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A to the cooler condenser assembly through a bolt with a torque value of 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). The process requires removal of vinyl tape to expose the connection ports and application of compressor oil (ND-OIL 8 or equivalent) to a new O-ring. The same procedure should be repeated for cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 by using compressor oil to lubricate the new O-ring before installation with a bolt torqued to 5.4 N.m. The last stage includes adding refrigerant followed by engine heating before inspecting for any signs of refrigerant leakage.
