One must start the trunk/liftgate shock/support repair process by taking off the back door stay sub-assembly on the left-hand side. The first step involves removing two bolts that detach the stay from both body panel and the body panel. Using a screwdriver users must first disconnect all clips before taking out the stay from the door section while also extracting the bolt on the door panel. The installation procedure requires the attachment of the stay to the door panel using bolts while applying 19.5 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) torque measurement to the door side. Attach the 2 body panel bolts to the stay and follow it with a torque measurement of 17.5 N.m (180 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf).
