2006 Toyota Sequoia Brake Booster Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the vacuum brake booster on 2006 Toyota Sequoia?
A: Service and repair work on the vacuum brake booster starts with master cylinder removal before disconnecting the vacuum hose along with vacuum switch connectors. Begin the service and repair of the vacuum brake booster by taking out the front door scuff plate LH alongside the cowl side trim board LH, instrument side panel LH, instrument panel finish panel lower LH, and No.2 heater to register duct. Start by removing the brake booster through its four nuts while ensuring a torque of 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) before pulling it out. To remove the brake booster, one must first disconnect the brake pedal return spring and clip along with the clevis pin. Untighten the lock nut after gasket removal from the brake booster bracket then extract the clevis using 25 Nm of torque (250 kgf-cm and 18ft. lbs.). Remove first the check valve together with the 4 nuts and brake booster bracket and gasket by applying torque of 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft. lbs.). Installation begins with the opposite order of removal followed by brake fluid addition to the reservoir before bleed the system and inspecting the pedal height before performing operational checks.
