How to service the rear spoiler on 2006 Toyota Prius?

Service of the rear spoiler requires extraction of the cable from the battery terminal for minimum ninety seconds to stop Air Bags and seat belt pretensioners from activating. Place protective tape under the assembly before proceeding to remove components starting with the rear wiper arm assembly and proceeding through back door lower trim board assembly and back door upper trim board assembly to the rear wiper motor assembly and finishing with the rear spoiler sub-assembly by removing 4 bolts and detaching the 3 clips with a taped screwdriver tip before disconnecting the center stop light connector. Now you can proceed to detach the center stop light assembly. Installation begins with putting protective tape under the rear spoiler sub-assembly and then you should proceed to connect the center stop light connector before attaching the 3 clips and installing the 4 bolts. Next install the rear wiper motor assembly before putting on the back door upper trim board assembly, back door lower trim board assembly, followed by the rear wiper arm assembly. Conclude the battery terminal connection to the negative cable before beginning initializations for systems affected by separating and rejoining the cable.
