2006 Toyota Corolla Thermostat Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the thermostat on 2006 Toyota Corolla?
A: Starting the replacement of the thermostat (1ZZ-FE) demands removal of both engine under cover RH and draining engine coolant before commencing. First remove the fan then take out the generator V belt before moving to the generator assembly. Take off the water inlet by unfastening its 2 nuts. After that, remove the thermostat. To install the new thermostat you must place a new gasket correctly on it while setting the jiggle valve to an upward direction always within 100 of either side of the prescribed position. The water inlet requires a torque of 11 Nm before installing it but the generator assembly needs to be reinstalled afterward. Complete the procedure by filling in engine coolant while inspecting for coolant leakages.
