- Q: How to service the cigarette lighter assembly on 2006 Scion xB?A: The service on the cigarette lighter assembly begins by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery terminal then waiting at least 90 seconds to deactivate the Air Bag pretensioners and seat belt pretensioners. The procedure begins by removing the instrument cluster finish panel center followed by the heater control knob and instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly lower center and the cigarette lighter cover requires the detachment of its two claws. The cigarette lighter assembly removal starts by removing the cigarette lighter knob and element then turning the socket until the claw between the socket and cigarette lighter bezel stay disengages finally pulling out the socket. Put the socket in line with the notch present on the cigarette lighter bezel stay then pull out the cigarette lighter. To install the cigarette lighter place the socket into the notch on the cigarette lighter bezel stay before pushing it into place strongly and adding the component elements and knob. Use the 2 claws to fix the cigarette lighter cover before moving to the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly lower center and instrument cluster finish panel center and installing the heater control knob. Reestablish the cable connection to the battery terminal which has a negative charge.
