2005 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Heater Core on 2005 Toyota Solara?
A: Service and repair operations for the heater core should start with refrigerant discharge from the refrigeration system using Special Service Tool: 07110-58060 (07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080). Safely remove cooler refrigerant suction hose No.1 by using Special Service Tool: 09870-00015 to release the clamp lock through the piping clamp before removing the hose without screwdrivers or similar tools. Before removing the 2 O-rings from the cooler refrigerant suction hose No.1, apply vinyl tape to seal three open fittings. The disconnect of cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A requires the usage of Special Service Tool: 09870-00025 which requires the same steps as disconnecting the first cooler refrigerant suction hose. The procedures for removing heater water outlet hose A and heater water inlet hose A from the 2AZ-FE engine require no excessive force usage while teams should prepare a pan to catch any coolant leakage. Rephrase the procedure to disconnect heater outlet water hose and heater inlet water hose for 3MZ-FE engine types. The procedure requires removal of instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly with passenger air bag assembly followed by air duct rear No.1 and No.2 after backfolding carpet and correctly dismounting screws, bolts, and nuts. Proceed with the instrument panel brace sub-assembly No.1 and instrument finish panel retainer lower followed by instrument panel brace sub-assembly No.2 and heater to foot ducts No.3 then heater to foot duct No.1. The procedure now requires disconnection of the instrument panel junction block assembly along with removal of the instrument panel bracket sub-assembly center. The removal process starts with releasing the wire harness clamp and connectors to disconnect the steering column assembly followed by unstowing the instrument panel reinforcement assembly through wire harness clamp and earth wire disconnection and cap and bolt uninstallation. The procedure ends with removing the stereo component amplifier assembly and ECM for both 2AZ-FE and 3MZ-FE engine types along with disconnecting connectors and clamps from the blower assembly and releasing the fitting claws from the defroster nozzle assembly lower.
