2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator on 2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder?
A: A client must begin Fuel Pressure Regulator replacement by removing the fuel pump and sender gauge assembly from the fuel tank. The procedure to remove fuel suction plate requires disconnecting the fuel sender gauge connector and ground plate while using two screwdrivers to carefully extract the fuel suction plate without damaging suction support or fuel suction plate. Disconnect the fuel pump connector. Start by unwiring the fuel pressure regulator to subsequently remove it and the O-ring. Reinstallation starts with placing a fresh O-ring on the pressure regulator then coating the O-ring with gasoline before pushing the pressure regulator back inside. Connect the fuel pump connector to reassemble the fuel suction plate to the fuel filter and fuel pump assembly. Finally, reconnect the fuel sender gauge connector alongside the ground plate. Reinstallation of the fuel pump and sender gauge assembly should be performed to the fuel tank.
