2005 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the LIFTGATE LIFT SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH on 2005 Toyota Highlander?
A: The first step to replace the LEFT HAND SIDE BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY requires the removal of 4 bolts which secure the back door stay to the back door panel at the same time you support the back door by hand. After proper positioning of the back door stay install the component by tightening 4 bolts to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) of torque. Both back door stay installation procedures follow the same techniques for the RH side and each step reverses the order of back door stay removal procedures. A bolt without torque specification information appears in the standard bolt chart.
