2005 Toyota Echo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: What precautions should be observed when servicing the fuel injector on 2005 Toyota Echo?
A: Here are the safety measures for fuel injector servicing: never employ an O-ring twice and maintain attention to the new O-ring throughout assembly while preparing it with spindle oil or gasoline except for engine, gear, or brake fluids. The injector requires installation between the delivery pipe and cylinder head where spindle oil or gasoline should be used at all contact points between the O-ring or injector grommet. Begin the injector replacement process by taking off the No.2 cylinder head cover followed by disconnection of the fuel tube through the removal of its fuel pipe clamp then separation of the fuel tube connector while using caution to stop fuel from breaking due to residual pressure. The delivery pipe along with injectors can be removed by detaching the 4 injector connectors followed by removing the 3 bolts securing the delivery pipe with 4 injectors and fuel pipe and finally separating the 2 spacers on the cylinder head to extract the injectors and take out their O-rings and grommets. Once you obtain all necessary installation components install a new grommet to each injector before using spindle oil or gasoline to coat new O-rings. These components can then be installed according to the guidelines. First apply spindle oil or gasoline to where the delivery pipes touch the O-rings then push the mounted injector into the delivery pipes so each one faces outward. Apply spindle oil or gasoline to the grommet areas between the cylinder head and injectors before placing 2 spacers on the cylinder head along with installing delivery and fuel pipes containing the 4 injectors. Perform a temporary installation of the delivery pipe and fuel pipe bolts to test smooth injector rotation before replacing the O-ring if necessary. Torque the delivery pipe's two bolts to 19 Nm with a spindle oil or gasoline coating while torquing the fuel pipe bolt to 9.0 Nm. Connect the fuel tube to the fuel pipe after following required safety precautions then mount the fuel pipe clamp. The wire harness protector cover must be installed using the bolt and 2 nuts followed by connecting the PCV hose to the cylinder head cover and joining the high tension cords to the ignition coils.
