2005 Toyota Celica Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Radiator Cooling Fan Motor on 2005 Toyota Celica?
A: Begin Radiator Cooling Fan Motor service and repair operations after you take off the upper front fender apron seal and upper radiator support seal, then the air installation for the 2ZZ-GE engine. The service begins by draining engine coolant followed by the removal of bumper cover and radiator upper support through air cleaner assembly, engine coolant reservoir and three hood lock bolts as well as two center brace bolts, two bolts, two nuts and two condenser upper supports. To detach the radiator upper support with cruise control present, disconnect its actuator and unfasten its support using two bolts. Remove the cooling fan from its place by first removing its two connectors and then the two attached bolts. Start by removing the fan and nuts then separate the wire along with the connector holder from the fan shroud prior to removing the fan motor screws in three locations. When reinstalling the fan motor use the three screws while setting the torque to 2.55 Nm (26 kgf-cm, 23 inch lbs.) and connect both the wire and connector holder to the fan shroud. Use a torque wrench to fix the fan by applying 6.18 Nm which equals 63 kgf-cm or 55 inch lbs. The installation procedure starts by tightening two bolts that need a torque force of 5.0 Nm on the cooling fan followed by connecting its two connectors. Use two bolts to secure the radiator upper support after which you must follow by installing the cruise control actuator with its three bolts when equipped. Two bolts and nuts should fasten each condenser upper support before using two more bolts for the center brace and three additional bolts for the hood lock. To finalize the procedure install the engine coolant reservoir followed by the air cleaner assembly increasing the front bumper installation then add coolant to the 2ZZ-GE engine before testing for any coolant leakage.
