    A: The first step of Brake Master Cylinder repair or service requires battery removal followed by disconnecting the level warning switch connector. Remove fluid using a syringe but ensure that the brake fluid does not contact painted surfaces. Disconnection of the reservoir hose comes first for manual transmission before disconnecting the brake line. All vehicles without ABS require tool 09023-00101 to remove five brake lines from the master cylinder and 3-way union where torque must reach 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). Vehicles with ABS need two brake lines detached from the master cylinder with the same torque strength setting. The first step requires removing the master cylinder through the process of dismounting 2 mounting nuts with 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) torque. Vehicles without ABS need the check valve bracket and 3-way along with the master cylinder to be pulled out, but ABS-equipped vehicles only need the check valve bracket extraction followed by master cylinder removal before gasket removal from the master cylinder. The removal process begins with stopping the reservoir and then putting the stopper through the groove between the reservoir and the master cylinder. Afterwards, the entire reservoir with attached grommets can be removed and the cap and strainer on the reservoir should be stripped off.
