How to replace the rear seat belt assembly outer on 2005 Toyota Avalon?

The first step for outer rear seat belt assembly replacement involves breaking the connection of negative battery cable. Start by disassembling the rear seat cushion assembly together with the rear seat headrest assembly and the RR shelf cover cap followed by the rear seatback assembly LH and RH along with rear door scuff plates LH and RH and rear door opening trim Weather Strips LH and RH as well as rear seat side garnishes LH and RH and roof side garnish assemblies inner LH and RH. Remove the package tray trim panel assembly by disconnecting the rear seat belt assembly outer and the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH followed by disengaging all necessary claws and clips. Next remove the rear seat belt assembly outer by taking out its bolt. The installation process should begin by inspecting that the retractor remains undismantled before checking the initial tilt angle of the retractor which must permit 15 degrees or less belt release and maintain locking above 45 degrees. You should install the rear seat belt assembly outer with a torque of 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) before reinstalling the package tray trim panel assembly and rear seat shoulder belt cover and rear seat inner w/center belt assembly RH also with the same torque. The anchor portion of the rear belt should not cross the protruding parts of the rear seat adjuster and the arrow must face forward. Verify that the ELR function operates properly by pulling the belt with speed after securing the outer part of the rear seat belt assembly. Installation of the roof side garnish assemblies inner LH and RH along with both rear seatback assemblies and rear seat cushion assembly must be completed before reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal. Secondly run the initialization of the Front Power Seat Control System after disconnecting the negative battery terminal and check the SRS warning indicator.
