- Q: How to replace the Liftgate Lift Support Damper Stay Sub-Assembly LH on 2005 Toyota 4Runner?A: The first step for back door damper stay sub-assembly LH replacement includes removing 2 bolts from the door panel while supporting the hood by hand during hood support removal. The bolt should be loosened after which the damper stay will detach from the vehicle structure. Install the damper stay with three bolts according to the installation steps where the door side requires a torque of 19.5 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) and the body side requires a torque of 17.5 N.m (180 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf). Proceed with installing the RH side by implementing the same installation method used for the LH side.
