2005 Toyota 4Runner Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the blower motor on 2005 Toyota 4Runner?
A: The service and repair process of the blower motor starts with removing the console upper rear panel sub-assembly before continuing to the console panel sub-assembly upper and console upper panel garnish No.1 and No.2 followed by the console box assembly rear. Start the service by disconnecting the cowl side trim board RH along with the instrument panel under cover sub-assembly No.2, glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly, glove compartment door sub-assembly, instrument panel finish panel lower No.2, and instrument panel register assembly No.2. Use a tool to uninstall air duct No.2 after you remove 4 bolts and disconnect the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly and uninstall 3 claw fittings. Remove the blower assembly by first detaching all connectors while loosening 7 clamps and removing 1 bolt together with 2 screws that have a nut. Then release the claw fitting. Next step involves removing the clean air filter sub-assembly through 2 claw fittings and taking out the filter from the air filter cover plate before moving to detach the cover plate. The installation begins by removing the blower damper servo sub-assembly using 3 screws followed by extracting the blower motor control by unfastering its 2 screws. The removal of the blower w/fan motor sub-assembly requires 3 screw removal. For blower assembly installation place the claw fitting first then fasten the assembly using one bolt and two screws with a nut while torquing the bolt to reach 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf) and nut to 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) before installing 7 clamps and reconnecting the connectors.
