2004 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to overhaul an A/C Condenser on 2004 Toyota Solara?
A: The first step of overcoming the cooler condenser assembly requires using Special Service Tool: 07110-58060 (07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080) to discharge refrigerant from the refrigeration system. The technician must disconnect Cooler discharging refrigerant hose No.2 through bolt and O-ring removal while using vinyl tape to seal the ends against moisture and foreign intrusion. After disconnecting cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A adopt the same disconnect procedure. Begin by removing the air cleaner inlet assembly and radiator support upper along with the cooler condenser assembly for both 2AZ-FE and 3MZ-FE engine types by unfastening their 2 nuts. Execute cooler condenser bracket No.2 and No.1 removal through respective nut uninstallation. Tighten bolt for the cooler condenser bracket No.2 to 4.4 Nm (45 kgf.cm, 39 in.lbf) before torquing bracket No.1 bolt to match that specification. Install the cooler condenser assembly using two nuts before torquing them to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 85 in.lbf) then place back the radiator support upper. The process for cooler refrigerant liquid pipe A begins with removing the vinyl tape followed by lubricating a new O-ring with compressor oil (ND-OIL 8 or equivalent) until installation to the cooler condenser assembly through a bolt torqued at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). Rephrase this procedure for cooler refrigerant discharge hose No.1 by applying compressor oil on the new O-ring before using a bolt to connect it and applying torque to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf). Sanitize the frost from the lines with Special Service Tool: 07110-58060 (07117-58060, 07117-58070, 07117-58080, 07117-58090, 07117-78050, 07117-88060, 07117-88070, 07117-88080). Introduce the refrigerant through the tool following a recommendation of 550 plus or minus 50 g (19.39 plus or minus 1.76 oz.), allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature then inspect the refrigerant system for leakage.
