How to replace the Rear No.2 Seat Belt Assy Outer RH on 2004 Toyota Sienna?

You need to start the replacement of the Rear No.2 Seat Belt Assy Outer RH by removing the rear door scuff plate RH, rear door Weather Strip RH, back door Weather Strip, back door scuff plate, quarter trim panel assembly front RH, roof headlining garnish rear, and RR window side garnish assembly No.2 RH. The removal of the rear No.2 seat belt assembly outer RH demands two steps as you remove the bolt and seat belt from the shoulder anchor position before moving to remove the retractor side bolt completely. The replacement of the rear No.2 seat belt assembly 3 point type (8-passenger) requires removal of 2 bolts and 2 nuts with the seat belt. The installation begins by taking away the bolt that secures the belt assembly inner of the rear seat 3 point type belt then continues with removal of the bolt and lap belt from the rear No.2 seat lap belt assembly center w/inner LH (8-passenger). The rear seat 3 point type belt assembly inner requires installation with a bolt which must be torqued to 42 Nm (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). The installation of the rear No.2 seat belt assembly outer RH must be completed without separating the retractor unit. The ELR locking mechanism should begin to lock after a 45 degrees tilt angle and never prior to 15 degrees of movement in any direction. Any unacceptable results indicate the need for new belt assembly installation. The stepping order begins with the retractor side bolt installation followed by upper bolt tightening to 8.5 Nm (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf) then continuing to lower the bolt tightening to 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). Proceed to attach the belt to the shoulder and floor anchor points with a final torque of 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). During installation check that the anchor part does not touch the protrusion of the floor panel. The fastening mechanism of child safety restraints must lock when you pull the belt rapidly and easily rewind it after full extension. If these features are not functional, replace the belt assembly. The rear No.2 seat lap belt assembly center w/inner LH (8-passenger) receives a bolt installation followed by 42 Nm (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) torque before installing the rear No.2 seat belt assembly 3 point type with its 3 bolts and 2 nuts secured at 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) torque level. The review of tilt degree and ELR lock must be repeated as before seat belt assembly replacement takes place for unsatisfactory results.

The installation of the rear No.2 seat belt assembly outer RH must be completed without separating the retractor unit. The ELR locking mechanism should begin to lock after a 45 degrees tilt angle and never prior to 15 degrees of movement in any direction. Any unacceptable results indicate the need for new belt assembly installation. The stepping order begins with the retractor side bolt installation followed by upper bolt tightening to 8.5 Nm (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf) then continuing to lower the bolt tightening to 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). Proceed to attach the belt to the shoulder and floor anchor points with a final torque of 42 Nm (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf). During installation check that the anchor part does not touch the protrusion of the floor panel. The fastening mechanism of child safety restraints must lock when you pull the belt rapidly and easily rewind it after full extension. If these features are not functional, replace the belt assembly. The review of tilt degree and ELR lock must be repeated as before seat belt assembly replacement takes place for unsatisfactory results.
