How to Service and Repair a Cigarette Lighter on 2004 Toyota Matrix?

The replacement process for the Cigarette Lighter Assy starts by taking out both the Floor Shift Shift Lever Knob Sub-Assy (M/T Transaxle) and the Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Assy CTR. Disengaging the two fitting claws gives access to take off the Cigarette Lighter Cover. First detach the Cigarette Lighter Assy through procedures which begin with removing the element assy and smoking knob before gently rotating the socket to free the stretchable claw between socket and bezel stay before pushing out the socket towards the room side. Place the socket over the notch on the cigarette lighter bezel stay to disengage it from the conventional side. The socket needs alignment with the cigarette lighter bezel stay's notch before pushing the cigarette lighter assy inside as firmly as possible to perform installation. Finish off by mounting the cigarette lighter knob along with its element assembly.
