2004 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the Neutral Safety Switch on 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first service step for the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor requires you to take off the engine No. 2 under cover. The first step in servicing the Transmission Position switch requires disconnecting its connector while using a tool to remove the switch by backing out the lock washer and nut before extracting the bolt and switch components. Secure the new park/neutral position switch with the bolt after applying 13 Nm torque (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.), followed by new lock washer and nut installation using 6.9 Nm torque (70 kgf-cm, 62 inch lbs.), and lastly bend the washer claws to stake the nut. The procedure ends with installing the engine No. 2 under cover after you adjust the park/neutral position switch and reconnect its connector.
