2004 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you replace the A/C Accumulator on 2004 Toyota Avalon?
A: Begin by unscrewing the modulator cap with a hexagon wrench (10 mm, 0.39 in.) before extracting the filter. Then remove and insert the new drier before putting back the filter. Replace the cap afterward using the hexagon wrench. Follow this step with pliers as you take out the drier while putting in a new one into the modulator but maintain the 2-layered section positioned upward prior to installation. The filter requires insertion into the modulator so its protrusion should rest at the base. Install the modulator cap with a hexagon wrench (10 mm, 0.39 in.) while applying compressor oil (ND-OIL 8 or equivalent) to the O-rings and screw part of the cap before torquing the caps to 12.3 N.m (9 ft.lbf and 125 kgf.cm).
