2003 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and reinstall a windshield on 2003 Toyota Tundra?
A: You need to begin by removing the inner rear view mirror. With the assist grips loose, unscrew their hidden caps and use a T30 torx driver on both driver and passenger sides. Disconnect the connector from sun visor lights by taking off the front pillar garnish and sun visors. Following that remove the wiper arms by unscrewing caps and nuts while taking out front personal light modules with their lenses and screws plus sub-visors. Use a screwdriver to remove both cowl louver screws and clips before peeling off the front part of the roof side rail Weather Strip from each side. Lift the outside and upper mouldings from the windshield while being mindful of the body parts. To remove the windshield glass safely insert piano wire through body and glass space and attach one end to wooden blocks before carefully cutting the adhesive with tape protection. Dusting both body and glass gets ready for charging the stoppers and dam. Then position the glass and apply Primer M to body and Primer G to the glass area. Use cartridge part 08850-00801 or equivalent to apply adhesive to the windshield glass and place it on position before securing it with tape for adhesive hardening. Verify no leaks from the glass area before installing the windshield external molding and other parts including front side rail Weather Strips and wiper elements into position with proper torque settings. Reattach the front headlining, sun visor holders, and other components including the front personal light, sub-visors, sun visors, front pillar garnish, assist grips using the T30 torx driver and the inner rear view mirror.
