2003 Toyota Sequoia Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Fuel Pressure Regulator on 2003 Toyota Sequoia?
A: Starting with Fuel Pressure Regulator service requires disconnecting first the vacuum hose from the intake air resonator followed by removing the fuel return hose from the pressure regulator while placing a shop towel underneath the pressure regulator to collect leaking fluid. First detach the 2 pressure regulator retaining bolts before extracting it from its place followed by O-ring removal. A new O-ring requires application of a gasoline layer but minimal in amount before installation onto the pressure regulator. The delivery pipe requires installation of the pressure regulator during which the user should turn it both ways before securing the 2 bolts with 7.5 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) torque. To complete the procedure reconnect the vacuum hose at the intake air resonator and reattach the fuel return hose to the pressure regulator before verifying for fuel leaks.
