2003 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front control arm on the LH side on 2003 Toyota Highlander?
A: The LH side front control arm replacement process requires proper engine assembly removal together with transaxle. The next step requires engine mounting insulator removal through 3 nut removal. Begin by eliminating the lower part of front suspension arm sub-assembly No. 1 LH by disassembling the front-side bolts and rear-side components consisting of bolt and nut afterward removing the lower suspension arm with its lower suspension arm bushing stopper from the lower suspension arm shaft. Before installation insert the lower suspension arm bushing stopper onto the lower suspension arm shaft and then install the lower suspension arm. Apply 200 Nm torque to the two bolts on the front side of the lower suspension arm before securing it with the bolt and nut on the rear side while applying a torque of 206 Nm. Reinstall the engine mounting insulator through its three nuts while torquing them to 87 Nm (890 kgf-cm, 64 ft. lbs.).
