2003 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Cruise Control Switch on 2003 Toyota Camry?
A: The battery disconnect procedure is the starting point for replacing the Cruise Control Switch. The procedure begins by removing steering wheel cover lower No.2 before moving to steering wheel cover lower No.3 when the wheel lacks steering pad switch components (4 spoke steering wheel configuration). Users should first remove the steering wheel cover lower No.3 when the wheel contains steering pad switch (3 spoke steering wheel assembly). Use Special Service Tool: 09950-50013 (or 09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021) while ensuring the front wheels are straight ahead during removal of the horn button assembly followed by the steering wheel assembly. The 4 spoke steering wheel requires users to remove the steering wheel damper by unfastening its 2 screws and then the steering wheel boss cover lower by disengaging 2 claws, removing 3 screws first. Begin by taking out the cruise control main switch assembly through removal of its two screws. To remove the main cruise control assembly within the 3 spoke steering wheel you should operate these steps: first uninstall the 3 screws followed by reversing the steering wheel to unfasten the 3 screws and finally gaining access to the cruise control main switch assembly. The wiring pins from the connector should get disengaged except the cruise control main switch assembly before being extracted from their sockets. The installation process requires centering the spiral cable after which operators must install the steering wheel assembly before performing inspections of the steering wheel center point and the horn button assembly. Last, they should inspect the SRS warning light.
