2003 Toyota 4Runner Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to overhaul the blower motor on 2003 Toyota 4Runner?
A: Start the blower motor overhaul by dismantling several components which include the console upper rear panel sub-assy followed by the console panel sub-assy upper along with console upper panel garnish No.1, console upper panel garnish No.2 and the console box assy rear. Start by removing the instrument panel under cover sub-assy No.2 together with glove compartment door stopper sub-assy and glove compartment door sub-assy followed by instrument panel finish panel lower No.2. Then disconnect air duct No.2 by removing its 4 bolts and unhooking the instrument panel safety pad sub-assy before overlooking 3 claw fittings. Start by removing the blower assy after unclipping seven clamps along with disconnecting connectors and removing one bolt and two screws and a nut. Then release the claw fitting to extract the blower assy. Next, remove the air filter sub-assy through disconnection of two claw fittings before taking out the air refiner element from the air filter cover plate followed by air filter cover plate removal. First remove the blower damper servo sub-assy when you disassemble three screws before removing the blower motor control through two screws' replacement and finally take out the blower W/fan motor sub-assy using three screws. The installation of the blower assembly requires fitting it with the claw attachment then securing with one bolt, two screws, and a nut using 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf) torque for the bolt and 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) torque for the nut before you install 7 clamps and restore all connectors.
