  A: The first step to service or repair the thermostat starts with coolant drainage followed by V-bank cover removal through the use of a 5 mm hexagon wrench to remove its 3 cap nuts concurrently while also counterclockwise operation of the cover fastener. Start with engine heating to normal working temperature before extracting the air cleaner hose with resonator and disconnecting heater hoses and removing the No. 2 ECT switch connector. Start by disconnecting the engine wire protector from its positions at the water inlet and right-hand cylinder head through clamp removal and nut removal. The water inlet pipe must be disconnected from the water inlet and left-hand cylinder head after removing the bolt and O-ring.
