2002 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the ignition coil on 2002 Toyota Avalon?
A: The first step to replace the ignition coil entails using a 5 mm hexagon wrench to remove the 3 cap nuts and loose the V-bank cover fastener in a counterclockwise direction before the cover's removal. First disconnect all six ignition coil connectors then remove the bolt before pulling out the ignition coils which results in the removal of all six. Installation of a new ignition coil should start with attaching it to the spark plug followed by cylinder head cover attachment before bolting the assembly and torquing it to 8 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 69 in.lbf) before completing the 6 ignition coil connector connections. Use a 5 mm hexagon wrench to fasten the V-bank cover with its 3 cap nuts then fastening the V-bank cover fastener.
