How to service the Front Wheel Speed Sensor on 2002 Toyota 4Runner?

The service procedure for the Front Wheel Speed Sensor begins with disconnecting its speed sensor connector. The procedure starts with disconnecting the speed sensor connector. Then detach the sensor harness from the steering knuckle and upper arm and side rail by eliminating 4 resin clips along with 3 clamp bolts. Tighten these fittings to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) for steering knuckle and upper arm and 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) for side rail. Before installing the speed sensor bolt into the steering knuckle use an 8.0 Nm torque to tighten the bolt. First retrace the removal procedures then check the sensor surface stays flat against the knuckle when tightening the bolt while confirming no objects remain on the sensor or knuckle which will get the sensor installed. Verify the speed sensor signal after completing its installation.
