• Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Injector on 2001 Toyota Tundra?

  A: Service and repair of fuel injectors requires first taking off air cleaner hose then unfastening intake air connector and fuel pressure regulator and disconnecting fuel inlet pipe after catching any leaking fuel in a container. First disconnect the injector connectors and remove the fuel pipe before proceeding to extract delivery pipes and injectors keeping them secure while in motion. Start by uninstalling 4 bolts and delivery pipes together with 6 injectors followed by extraction of the 4 spacers from the intake manifold leading to removal of the 6 injectors from delivery pipes with detaching of 2 O-rings and 2 grommets per injector. Place new insulators on each injector before installing them with 2 new O-rings that require a light coating of spindle oil or gasoline. Then tighten the 4 bolts holding the delivery pipes to the intake manifold to 13 N.m (130 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf).
