- Q: How to service and repair the A/C Accumulator on 2001 Toyota Tundra?A: The A/C Accumulator service and repair needs refrigerant discharge followed by air evacuation before adding 600 plus or minus 50 g (21.16 plus or minus 1.76 oz.) of refrigerant during inspection for system leaks. The next step requires unfastening the two liquid tubes from the A/C accumulator through bolt removal while applying torque of 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf). Then immediately place caps on the exposed fittings to protect the system from moisture and dirt ingress. The installation of two new O-rings requires compressor oil lubrication before they go onto the tubes. The holder bolt allows removal of the A/C accumulator by pulling it downward. The addition of 20cc (0.71 fl.oz.) ND-OIL 8 or equivalent compressor oil to the compressor system should be done before installing a new A/C accumulator. The final step entails removing the bolt and holder which will be reversed for installation procedure.
