A: The process begins by aligning the front wheels toward straight ahead position before removing the steering wheel pad and steering wheel. To disconnect the RH and LH tie rod ends and intermediate shaft assembly and clamp plate users must remove the nut together with the clamp plate. Move on to disconnect the pressure feed and return tubes by using Special Service Tool: 09023-38400 while keeping the stabilizer bar in place without removing it. The Rack And Pinion assembly removal process requires disassembly of two Rack And Pinion assembly set bolts and nuts while lifting the stabilizer bar to reach the bolts and performing careful extraction from the LH vehicle side while protecting turn pressure tubes. The installation of the Rack And Pinion assembly should be performed from the left-hand side followed by 2 Rack And Pinion assembly set bolt application with 181 Nm torque (1,850 kgf-cm, 134 ft. lbs.). Next connect the stabilizer bar with 4 bolts at 19 Nm (190 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) and use Special Service Tool: 09023-38400 to connect the pressure feed and return tubes while maintaining a torque of 27 Nm (280 kgf-cm, 20 ft. lbs.). Tool compliance requires a 300 mm (11.81 inch) The clamp plate receives the nut at 10 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 7 ft. lbs.) then the intermediate shaft assembly and the RH and LH tie rod ends should be connected. Set up the vehicle with the front wheels in a straight position while raised by a jack. After centering the spiral cable you must install the steering wheel through alignment of match marks between the wheel and main shaft. Secure the set nut temporarily before finishing with the connector installation. Next follow the power steering bleeding procedures then test the steering wheel center point followed by steering wheel set nut torquing to 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft. lbs.). Complete by installing the steering wheel pad and inspecting the front wheel alignment.
