2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder A/C Accumulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator on 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder?
A: The procedure to replace the dryer starts with using a 10 mm hexagon wrench to unfasten the modulator cap which reveals the filter. Remove the filter and the dryer from the modulator while keeping the dryer in its vinyl bag with the 2 layered section oriented upward. Follow this procedure by utilizing pliers to remove the dryer before inserting an alternative dryer into the modulator unit while keeping the vinyl bag undisturbed during installation and positioning the 2 layered part at the upper section. Put the filter inside the modulator so its small end points downward following the installation of the cap. Apply compressor oil (ND-OIL 8 or equivalent) to the O-rings and screw part before installing the caps by using a 10 mm hexagon wrench and final tightening them to 12.3 N.m (125 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf).
