- Q: How to remove and install the front Air Bag sensor on 2001 Toyota Camry?A: Beginning the process of removing and placing the front Air Bag sensor entails first completing the step of removing the headlight LH and RH through disconnecting 2 clips and turn signal lights and then dislodging the 4 holding bolts. A technician should disconnect both pins from the connector that remains inside the sensor assembly before removing the two mounting bolts and the sensor assembly. The procedure must be repeated on the RH front Air Bag sensor yet the connector needs disconnection with the sensor assembly in place before removing the 2 bolts and sensor. Sequence both front Air Bag sensors LH and RH by placing them with the arrow mark pointing toward the vehicle front then tighten bolts to 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). The front Air Bag sensor connector needs to be connected only after the sensor assembly installation is complete by ensuring no damage exists to the sensor and replacing it with new if any damage occurs. Begin by installing the headlight on the left-hand side and right-hand side then put on the turn signal light on each respective side.
