A: Begin by steering the front wheels directly forward before taking off the steering wheel pad followed by removing the steering wheel. The first step involves disconnecting both RH and LH tie rod ends followed by separating the No. 2 intermediate shaft assembly from the clamp plate through bolt removal. Special Service Tool 09631-22020 should be used to disconnect the pressure feed and return tubes. Begin by removing the Rack And Pinion assembly by taking out the bracket stud bolt together with its bolt and nut followed by the removal of two set bolts and nut washer and assembly to complete the Rack And Pinion assembly removal. Then take out the bracket together with its grommet. Begin installation by putting on the grommet as well as bracket followed by the Rack And Pinion assembly while applying 165 Nm (1,700 kgf-cm, 123 ft. lbs.) torque to the assembly set bolt and 130 Nm (1,350 kgf-cm, 96 ft. lbs.) torque to the assembly set bolt together with washer and nut and 20 Nm (200 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.) torque to the stud bolt on the bracket while the bolt and nut to the bracket require 165 Nm (1,700 kgf-cm, The correct installation of tubes requires Special Service Tool 09631-22020 through which users should torque to 32 Nm (326 kgf-cm, 27 ft. lbs.). Use a torque wrench with 300 mm (11.81 inch) fulcrum length for precision. Proceed with bolting the clamp plate while torquing it to 29 Nm (290 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.) before connecting the No. 2 intermediate shaft assembly and the RH and LH tie rod ends. Align the front wheel to face straight ahead after possible vehicle lift with stand while placing the spiral cable at its central position and mount the steering wheel through appropriate alignment of matchmarks between wheel and steering column main shaft before tightening the set nut briefly followed by connector installation.
