How to service the Alternator on 2000 Toyota Solara?

Before servicing the generator the drive belt must be removed after loosening the pivot bolt followed by adjusting the lock bolt along with the adjusting bolt. The drive belt installation requires 56 Nm (570 kg.cm, 41 ft.lb) torque for the pivot bolt while the lock bolt needs 18 Nm (180 kg.cm, 13 ft.lb) torque. First disconnect the generator connector before removing the nut which disconnects the generator wire and finally separate the wire harness from its clip. Complete the generator removal by taking off the pivot bolt followed by the plate washer then the adjusting lock bolt and generator. To install replicate the reverse sequence that was used to remove these parts.
