2000 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator on 2000 Toyota Sienna?
A: Start with engine initialization to detect coolant and Automatic Transmission fluid leaks and check the A/T fluid level in the first step of radiator servicing and repair. First, drain the engine coolant. Remove the radiator assembly by unplugging the relay block (daytime running light system) from the battery hold-down clamp (Canada specification) then continuing with the removal of No. 1 and No. 2 electric cooling fan connectors and upper radiator hose from the radiator and lower radiator hose from the water inlet pipe followed by the two oil cooler hoses from the oil cooler pipes. The radiator assembly removal requires removing two upper radiator supports which need to be torqued to 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.) then lifting the radiator assembly out. Begin the installation process by taking away both lower radiator supports and then moving on to the removal of the lower radiator hose together with the two oil cooler hoses. Both bolts securing the No. 1 electric cooling fan to the radiator need removal at 5.0 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.) torque setting before proceeding to detach the No. 2 electric cooling fan by a similar process. Installation procedures should be performed in the opposite sequence of removal steps.
